Let us introduce ourselves!
The members of the board of 2026 are proud to introduce themselves as the new runners of the Farato Education Foundation. Every year the foundation is run by six second-year bachelor students from Nyenrode Business Universiteit. We work together to facilitate new ideas and solutions and help the foundation grow to new heights.
The foundation is represented in the Gambia by the school principal, Simon Mendy, and teachers of the schools. Our mentor, as well as one of the founders of the foundation, Herman van der Meulen, started this project in 2016. In 2020, we officially became a foundation, and after two years, we are proud to announce we have contained the ANBI status. Since then, a new group of enthusiastic students has fulfilled the board positions each academic year.
We want to emphasize that the directors of the Farato Education Foundation volunteer their time, they do not receive any remuneration in any way! We are motivated to help positive change within Farato and with that positively change to world. All old board members are proud life long ambassadors of the Farato Education Foundation.
